A Community for Financial Indepdenence and Retiring Early (FIRE) Enthusiasts
Welcome to my little corner of the FIRE world! I think my story is similar to many other FIRE enthusiasts in that I try to live a little smaller and simpler and I am not interested in working full-time for someone else until I’m 65-67. I’ve been an enthusiastic, but passive participant of the FIRE community for the last 10 years. And I have been noodling on the idea of starting a blog for the last two years when I first secured this site name.
I chose the “FIRE Wanderer” name to reflect how I feel about my winding journey to FIRE. While I have fallen off track and questioned my path to FIRE here and there, I also believe in J.R.R Tolkein’s quote, “Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost”.
Since most if not all my ideas around FIRE have been heavily influenced if not defined by those before me, I decided to setup this blog up in a way that I could appreciate and share the infinite wisdom and experience of a number of FIRE elders with you all.
If you are new to FIRE, I would highly encourage you to explore these FIRE experts’ stories to help you get started on your own journey! If you are experienced with FIRE, please share your knowledge and ideas with us junior members! While we might all take different paths and reasons driving our interest and goals to FIRE, I think a community that shares ideas and information can be more powerful than any single voice. I hope you agree. Thanks in advance for visiting, reading, and sharing! If you want a little more background about me, here is my origin story.
